"Six bespoke dining chairs designed around a specific table, a specific room, and a specific community — now available as a production piece."
Kit and Ace opened each of their stores as a hyper-local expression — commissioning lighting designers, artists, and furniture makers directly from each city rather than fitting out from a central catalog. The brief was community-specific by design.

The commission came through a local design retail store, which had sold a number of Loui pieces. Six dining chairs were needed to complete the room for the store's monthly supper club, where artists, entrepreneurs, and community leaders gather to dine together inside the space.

My contribution was the Bang! chair, now a staple in the Loui Collection. The boomerang-shaped rear legs and the slight recline built into both the seat and backrest create an ergonomic posture that works for a long dinner. The stance is striking — the geometry reads well against the hard angles of Noah Rossmo's pyramidal table. Both pieces expose the carefully cut joinery and clean lines consistent throughout.

Kirsten Geekie, a Saskatoon-based artist and friend, painted three beautiful pieces of art to compliment the overall aesthetic and energy of the space.
